It might be helpful to include some satellite status sensors as well, that can tell us about the satellite's condition in flight, so we know if things are looking bad, or to help us decide what went wrong is something does go wrong.

These would consist of at least thermometers, situated in different parts of the sat and around the computers/radio/batteries. Using these we would have a sense of whether our operations were not doing very good things to the systems, hopefully before there are problems.

Agree. to maintain temperature we should place several temperature sensors around the sat so that we can manage the temperature.
